FAQ

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE A COMMISSION?

Completed works can take anywhere from 4-8 weeks to complete, longer if it is a particularly large portrait. If you have a deadline, please do let me know in advance. I'll always do whatever I can.

WHAT IF I HAVE MORE THAN ONE SUBJECT?

I am happy to capture more than one person in a single portrait. Please do be aware that the size of the portrait will need to be larger to accommodate not only the additional person(s), but to allow room for all subjects to ‘breathe’ in the painting. Additional subjects also incur an extra cost.
You may want to consider commissioning an individual portrait of each person instead. In this case, I offer a 10% discount on each additional portrait within the same family. I am more than happy to discuss which option will best suit your family.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

All payments can be safely made through credit card transaction (via Stripe) through Paypal or direct deposit. I require a 50% non-refundable deposit of the total amount before any commission work begins. Commission work will be invoiced via Paypal.

HOW MUCH DO PORTRAITS COST?

Portrait costs vary depending on the size of the paper chosen, how many subjects required, and the complexity of any significant details such as clothing. For a detailed quote please contact me via the form or commissions email I'm always more than happy to chat commitment free.

DO YOU WORK WITH A CONTRACT?

Yes I do. This is where the ideas are crystallised for your commission, you commit with a non refundable (50%) deposit, we exchange contact details and the deposit secures your place in the schedule. I can then confirm your start date. The contract gives security to both you the buyer and I as the artist. The deposit allows you one reasonable alteration per artwork (additional sketches are charged at €50 each). Once the sketch idea is agreed there can be no further changes, the artwork is now in progress. The remainder of the cost will be due on completion, before the work is posted.

MONITORS

Please note important information regarding colour(s) of works

Actual colours of artworks may vary. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor, laptop, tablet and phone screen has a different capability to display colours and that everyone sees these colours differently. I try to edit the photos to show the work as life-like as possible, but please understand the actual colour may vary from your monitor.

Photographic rights

If the photograph is not your own, you must obtain permission from the owner of the image. If you want to use an image from a professional photo shoot, you need to ask for permission from the photographer.

Deadline and Delivery

A date of completion will be agreed and the client notified once dispatched, all artwork is sent tracked, any postal delays are then outside of the artists responsibility.

Copyright

I as the artist, retain copyright of the art work, so I have the right to use an image of the work for my portfolio, social media and reproduce as prints.

*If product is a gift, please make this known and the image will not be published online until it has been received. I don't want to ruin the surprise!

Data protection

I will need to collect the following information: client’s name, email and address. This will be used for commission correspondence, invoices, contract and delivery of product. The clients name will be stored to keep track of orders. Once the client receives the artwork, any photographs provided for the commission will be deleted.
